Pedestrian Grit Spreaders are the most practical way of applying grit or salt to paths, car parks, drives and estate roads in order to clear snow and ice.
They have a hopper, usually made from rot-proof polyethylene, into which you pour your grit or road salt. You open a gate which allows the salt to fall onto a spinning disk which is driven by a gearbox on the axle between the wheels. The spinner throws the grit over a metred distance and that’s it!
The wider you open the gate the more salt is spread and the faster you push the spreader the wider the area treated.
Our Seltek Warehouse store has a comprehensive range of grit and salt spreaders; not just pedestrian, puss along units but also towed and vehicle mounted units. In these days where Health and Safety receives justified prominence these units contribute to the avoidance of falls in the snow.
